A More Detailed Introduction
Dec. 9th, 2018 12:09 amHi guys, I'm Meg, one of those fandom people swept out of Tumblr following the new purge. I've been wanting to join a social media site that's less image-focused and more long-form than Tumblr for a while, but fandom people were gathered there for some time. Whether fandom migrates to Pillowfort or to here, or stays in Tumblr (which seems likely too), I hope to make this place home base for a while. It's calmer here. For me right now, at least.
I love writing, don't get to do it nearly enough, but hopefully having a more low-stakes and centered place (even more perhaps than on AO3) like Dreamwidth will help. As I post fics I will be cross-posting them here as well.
Like other blogs of this nature, I will post some personal things here as well. As a college senior staring down at the last four months at a university I have decidedly mixed feelings about, and just had a fairly colorful end to my semester, I am expecting a few tear-filled and/or drunken posts about my future in the coming weeks. I will be moving to New York City in the summer too, to begin a Career in a semi-academia semi-not job and trying to pull life together as a semi-adult. It'll be fun—or at the very least a change of pace.
For fanfics, I am currently working on A Summer in Maine (Nurseydex, Check Please!), which I have honest-to-God done more research for than any other creative project in my life (deliberately so—I wanted to train myself to do research in this way) but which I also started summer last year. I've got the whole ten-ish part of the story planned out, but it's been tough finding time to write. I also do original fiction and might post about them, if not necessarily post them, here from time to time.
Other places to find me:
- AO3: lyrithim
- Pillowfort: lyrithim (nothing there yet)
- Tumblr: meg-a-million-whats (general fandom), lyrithim (fanfiction/writing)
